Yesterday’s Training Log-June 11

Yesterday was kind of hectic so I didn’t get to blog my training. Anyway, I decided that after running 10 miles on Sunday and doing a pretty intense upper body workout on Monday, I’d give my body a rest on Tuesday. I’m glad I did-my knees had been feeling pretty crappy-at the end of my 10 miles it was hard to run downhill anymore. So I figured better to push running my 4 miles (that I was supposed to do Tuesday) back to Wednesday.

I am really glad I gave my legs that extra day of rest. I took my usual route up Cornell Road, but not to the Audobon Center like I usually do. Instead I turned up a steep trail, called the Tunnel Trail, to the Cumberland Trail and wound up high in the West Hills neighborhoods. I meandered my way down the narrow roads back to work. It was a good run-I felt really strong on the uphills and didn’t feel at all tired or weak by the end of the run.

After work, I met my hubby at the gym for a quick leg workout that consisted of decline squats, leg extensions, hamstring curls, calf extensions, and some ab stuff. Today the legs are a bit sore but feel good. I’ll be doing 3 miles today-probably on the treadmill because I want to meet my husband at the gym. I hate running on the treadmill but maybe I can at least get a sense of my pace lately.

I’ll check in after that’s done!
